Chronic Conditions and Continuity of Care in Brazil
Rio Med Care provides consultations in English, by secure video, throughout Brazil. This page is general information and does not replace an individual medical evaluation.

If you are living in Brazil for months or years, an ongoing condition needs a doctor who knows your history, monitors your results and adjusts treatment over time. Family and community medicine exists precisely for this kind of continuous care.
Our physician reviews your records from your home country, discusses the medications available in Brazil (names and formulations often differ) and establishes a follow-up plan so your treatment is never improvised.

Frequently asked questions
Can you simply refill a medication I already take?
Any prescription follows a clinical evaluation. Bring your records — in many cases continuity of an established treatment is entirely appropriate, but that judgment is made during the consultation.
Is my home-country prescription valid in Brazil?
Brazilian pharmacies generally require a prescription issued by a physician registered in Brazil. Documents issued by Rio Med Care physicians are valid nationwide.
Do you sell or deliver medication?
No. Rio Med Care provides medical consultations only. Medication is purchased at any licensed pharmacy of your choice.
